Robert Murray M’Cheyne, the young minister of the Gospel at St. Peters Church in Dundee, Scotland, lived a deeply spiritual life that has challenged and inspired many. Since his death in 1843 at the age of 30, hundreds of thousands have been blessed by his example. Few men have lived with such power and blessing in such a short time.

Dr. Andrew A. Bonar wrote the standard biography of this remarkable young man. He based the work on the larger Memoirs and Remains of the Rev. Robert Murray M’Cheyne, reprinting only the memoirs or biography in this edition. Moody Press republished M’Cheyne’s letters and sermons in the Wyckliffe Series. In this volume, we present Bonar’s stirring account of a man fully surrendered to God’s will. Dr. Wilbur M. Smith, in his Profitable Bible Study, recommends this book to every minister, regardless of denomination, calling it a “marvelous work.”
