Marshall Broomhall

Marshall Broomhall

Marshall Broomhall (1866–1937) was a dedicated British missionary, editor, and author who documented the history and impact of the China Inland Mission. As a nephew of Hudson Taylor, he was deeply embedded in the missionary movement from a young age. Serving as Editorial Secretary for the mission for nearly three decades, Broomhall not only edited its influential magazine, China’s Millions, but also penned a wide range of works—from biographical accounts of key missionary figures to comprehensive surveys of Chinese society and religion, including the pioneering study of Islam in China. His meticulous research and heartfelt commitment provided both historical insight and practical guidance for generations of missionaries and scholars alike.
