Theodore L. Cuyler (1822–1909) was an American Presbyterian minister, devotional writer, and influential Christian leader of the nineteenth century. He served for many years as pastor of the Lafayette Avenue Presbyterian Church in Brooklyn, New York, where his preaching attracted a large congregation. Cuyler was widely known for his practical, warm, and pastoral writing. His books and articles often addressed prayer, Christian character, suffering, faith, and perseverance. Deeply concerned with both personal holiness and the spiritual needs of ordinary people, he wrote in a direct and encouraging style that made his works popular among Christians of his generation.
