November To End of Year Scroll Reader Update

Greetings listeners,
We are approaching the end of 2023. Since the time of this projects start, we’ve been able to produce over 100 hours of free audiobook content—praise the Lord! We are grateful to the LORD for the volunteers who’ve been apart of this. Grateful for the technology and tools that have helped us in this endeavor.

Once again, I would ask that you pray for these resources to spread and impact the right people. Wouldn’t it be a remarkable testimony in the decades to come to hear about the lives of believers who were influenced by listening to a missionary’s biography and how it inspired them to engage in global missions themselves? The harvest is plentiful and the laborers are few!

As far as updates go, the following are the audiobooks added since our last email update was sent out.

Newest Free Christian Audiobooks

Delivered By Desire: The Encouraging Truth About Christians and Sexual Purity by Daryl Wingerd. This book is so needed in our day and age.

The Miracles of Missions: Modern Marvels In The History of Missionary Enterprise by A.T. Pierson. An excellent book that testifies to the power of the Gospel to transform a people.

Robert Cleaver Chapman of Barnstaple by William Bennet. This is a biography of a man whom Charles Spurgeon said was the most saintly man alive.

The Scots Worthies—Brief Historical Accounts of Famous Scottish Pastors and Martyrs by John Howie. We’ve added a few chapters and hope to work on this more in the upcoming year.

History of the Moravian Church | Book 2: The Revival Under Zinzendorf—Do you know your church history? If not we encourage you to hear both Book 1 and 2 about the Moravians.

Pursuing God: A Seekers Guide—This is an excellent book read by its author Jim Elliff, “Straightforward, Clear, and Engaging Explanation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ”.

Lives of The Three Mrs. Judsons—Missionaries to Burmah (This is a current work in progress that.)

Children’s Edition of Touching Incidents and Remarkable Answers to Prayer—This book was already available in the public domain and had been previously published online. We have the capability to source books from ‘librivox’ and make them accessible on our website for use in our audiobook player. Therefore, if you come across a valuable Christian book on librivox, please don’t hesitate to inform us.

Stories Worth Rereading—We’ve continued to add chapters to this great children’s book. Such as, “Giants and Grasshoppers and Never Giving Up” and “Spare Moments”.

New Site Updates

We have made some updates to our homepage. When you return to the site, you will now find a button labeled ‘Continue listening to…’ which will allow you to effortlessly resume the audiobook from where you last left off. Additionally, both Android and iPhone users can now have their listening progress saved when they exit a book, enabling them to easily pick up where they left off.

Furthermore, we’ve introduced a ‘Favorites’ feature. On each audiobook, you will notice a heart icon; by clicking it, you can add the book to your favorites list, making it more convenient to access and revisit. You can access your favorite items from a dedicated tab on the homepage. This feature, like the others, works based on the device you are on, no user registration is required.

Offer to participate in proof listening: Additionally, we’ve created software that enables unpublished chapters to be listened to, and errors can be flagged. This streamlined process saves time for our editors, eliminating the need for them to listen to an entire audiobook for proofreading.

On top of these changes to the site, we also formatted The Miracles of Missions and put it up on Amazon in printable form. Many of these older books are not available online, and as we convert them to audiobooks, we also try to republish some in a physical copy. Once more, we ask for your prayers for this project. We desire God’s presence in our efforts. Providing accessible and free resources is a way to honor the LORD, and we have faith that He will bless our endeavors.

Pressing on,
James
